My history personal computer timeline in Picture



history personal computer This is my computer history full timeline and when my history personal computer started.

When i purchase my very first personal computer. It was a Sinclair Z81 (Figure 1:). Wow i was impress to own my first PC computer.

I had to order it from England. You could only use it if you knew how to program in basic. To store your program into a media you had to connect a 4 track tape recorder to it or like in the second picture buy a ROM pack sold separately.

This was my very first job as a computer technician after i graduate from Control Data Institute.

I have work there form 1979 to 1986, and i just love to work there, this is the place i had most fun working, the teem was so grate.



circuit board apple IIc In (Figure 2:. Is the first computer i have build from scratch.It was a Apple II clone, i had to run all hover the place to find the component to build it.both computer Z81 and Apple IIc had to be connected to a TV set.

This next on is PDP-11 from Digital computer,now dead and bought by Compaq who is turn as been bought by HP.

The PDP-11 was the first computer that a learn to be a computer repair technician, i also learn machine language programming on this computer. It was all done via switch on a keyboard and then a load switch, it was very cumbersome and long.

radio shack color computer, coco II, trs80 The next computer a bought was a Radio Shack Color computer call COCO II. I was using it wild i was at University (UQAM).

Because they where not enough computer at the University, i had to use mind to connect to the university computer via acoustic modem in order to download or upload my works.

I had build a program that was calling until it get the line and then wake me up with a alarm sound.

Sometime it could take hours before you get a free line.

Anyway it was i nice computer and very powerful for the time been.

I did some amazing thing with that little COCO II.



Digital vac computer

This is a Vac 780 computer also made by Digital.

I use to work on those computer.

Now i think my cel phone is more powerful and have more memory.

This PDP-11 was very popular, they must have sold a lot.


Tandem 16 computer Tandem-16 computer is a another one that iv work on as a computer. This one was the first fault-tolerant computer, for online transaction processing, it included everything in double.I've work on it at AES Data.

So this was my computer history timeline. Of course i did own lots more computer then that.
